5. When the biscuits have cooled down, get a grown up to help you melt your chocolate using a “Bain Marie”, which is a pan of very hot water and a bowl.
6. Break the chocolate up into small pieces and put in the bowl, lower the bowl gently into the pan of very hot water and leave to melt. Stir gently with a fork or spoon so there are no lumps, ensuring not to get any water into the chocolate.
7. When melted, dip the gingerbread Herdys into the chocolate as shown. Depending on how deep he goes in the chocolate puddle, the more chocolate he’ll get covered in!
8. Using a spoon, make a little chocolate puddle as shown and stand the herdy biscuit in the middle.
9. Using a bowl, prop him up so he stands up straight. The curve of the bowl will allow him to be propped up without getting the bowl stuck in the puddle too.
10. Leave to cool down and set.
And there you have it! Some very naughty gingerbread Herdys who have been jumping in chocolate puddles. Pack a few of these with a flask of hot tea or coffee, and you can happily saunter out into the countryside.
