What is the Herdyfund?
We set up the Herdyfund when we launched Herdy in 2007, contributing a percentage of the company profits to supporting upland fell farming, Cumbria’s rural communities and of course the lovable Herdwick sheep. Today the herdyfund is proudly an official charitable fund of the Cumbria Community Foundation. As well as giving financial support, the herdyfund brings people together to create innovative and ambitious solutions to the problems facing farmers and rural communities.
Why do we do it?
The Lake District is the birthplace of Herdy, inspired by a chance encounter with one of the region’s iconic, smiling Herdwick sheep. From day one we felt giving back to the place that inspired us was the right thing to do. It’s our way of saying thank you to the place and people who make this corner of the world so special. Our company mission is to spread smiles and happiness and there’s no greater feeling than giving back to our local community.
How ewe can help
Farmers and rural communities manage and maintain Cumbria’s physical and cultural landscape and have done so for hundreds of years. Now ewe can join with us to help encourage and support their future by donating to the herdyfund.
